NW Pocket Beagles
Olde English Pocket Beagles from the beautiful Northwest!
I have personally had a recent crisis within our home pertaining to one of our Pocket Beagles lives and a family member set up a donation site from this amazing organization that helped us save her life! Literally! Without the assistance in generating funds for the vet bills that were piling up we might not have made the choices we made. This gave us the option to continue forward with her necessary vet care allowing family and friends to contribute voluntarily to our cause. It was easy to set-up and follow their directions. They have an incredible organization that offers you the opportunity to accept love and support from those around you.

Adopting a pet is an amazing thing! I have a couple of furbabies that were adopted, one from Willamette Humane Society. Support your local Humane Society and share the knowledge of available animals out there looking for their furever home, love and acceptance.

After giving their time and talent as volunteers at other shelters and rescues, the two saw the need in Salem for another, and their dream became a reality with the creation of Second Chance Salem. Through hard work and resourcefulness, Second Chance Salem has grown by leaps and bounds.
Gwen and Angie believe that dogs in transition need stability in their surroundings as well as a true homelike atmosphere to flourish in as they wait for their new families. All dogs in the rescue are housed in family environments.
Both of the founders believe strongly in closing the gap between humans and dogs through education, support, and compassion.
SCS makes the most of opportunities to interact with the public at outreaches and special events.
Of special interest to Gwen and Angie is helping families deal with behavioral issues which threaten the pet dog’s inclusion in the family.
The work of Fences For Fido is deeply rooted in making that kind of change between a dog and his family, but our work does not end there. We create safer and improved conditions for chained dogs by providing shelter, veterinary care, and spay and neutering services when necessary. We work to educate families on how to best care for their four-legged family members during the heat of the summer and the cold, wet winter months. Twice a year our team of tireless volunteers visits all of the dogs in the FFF family to make sure they remain unchained, safe and healthy.
With more than 235 dogs already unchained since May 2009, the mission of Fences For Fido continues. With generous help from our volunteers and donors, FFF hopes to share many more success stories.
